NOVA Medical Education Campus
The Medical Education Campus of Northern Virginia Community College (MEC), is a technologically sophisticated specialized campus dedicated to the education of Nursing and Allied Health professionals. The MEC also has a strong commitment to workforce development and continuing education. Located in Springfield, Va., the MEC offers quality education to more than 3,500 students each year who plan to enter the health care professions.
Associate Degrees in: Nursing (RN), Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT), Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), Radiography-Diagnostic Imaging (RT-R), Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS), Respiratory Therapy (CRT) and (RRT), Health Information Mgt. (RHIT), Dental Hygiene (RDH), and Emergency Medical Services Paramedic (EMT-P).
Certificate Programs in: Radiation Oncology, Clinical Coding, Phlebotomy, Basic EMT (EMT-B), Intermediate EMT (EMT-I).
Numerous pre-employment and healthcare career enhancement programs are offered by the MEC's Workforce Development Division.
The MEC is a state-of-the-art facility with a 32 chair dental clinic, a cadaver lab and a human patient simulators lab. Classrooms are technologically sophisticated, including our distance learning classrooms. We offer a variety of services through our Learning and Technology Resources and Student Services Center, and participate in academic partnerships with universities and community-based network clinics.
