The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce blog shares insights, industry information and best practices for area businesses and our community at large. Contributors are experts in our community, and around the world.

Nancy-jo Manney, Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce CEO since 1998, will be leaving effective December 31, 2018.

The provision of short-term rentals via online platforms such as Airbnb, FlipKey and HomeAway is part of the growing “shared economy.” In 2017, the Virginia General Assembly established a framework by which local governments may regulate these and other short-term rentals.

Those who live in Fairfax County know that tucked into strip shopping centers and retail areas are numerous gems, individual restaurants that reflect the character of their neighborhoods.

Whether hanging at the pool, attending a friend’s backyard BBQ or enjoying a community event, summer is a great time to establish new connections in a relaxed, fun environment.

Increasing visibility within the community will benefit our Chamber’s members and encourage new membership.

Help increase the visibility for our Chamber which ultimately benefits our members and works toward the Chamber’s larger mission.

Thank you for a great 2016. Now please welcome our 2017 board chairman, Meghan Snyder.
